Is Lakewood Park suitable for camps all year round?

Lakewood Park is suitable for camps in all seasons. The East Gippsland climate is different from Melbourne. The winter day temperatures are generally more like Northern Victoria. We often have the top temperature in the state and we do not get the really cold nights. We also get less rain in winter, with day after day of clear blue skies.

In summer, we rarely get the extreme heat because on most afternoons in hot weather we get a welcome sea breeze. The weather is mostly perfect to enjoy the lake and seaside environment.

Even though the climate is mild, all bedrooms have heating for the comfort of campers. A very large open fireplace in the main building produces a warm and homely atmosphere.

Public Liability

Public lability insurance has been a major issue with many outdoor activity providers. Lakewood Park has a $10m cover and our contract program providers also carry appropriate insurance.

Our passenger vessel, MV Lakes Odyssey operates under Marine Safety Victoria Survey and carries a further $5m cover.
